First Leaf™

Welcome to the future of sustainable, certified organic planting soils! Rather than following the trend of removing compost (the main source of nutrients!) in favor of adding other “exotic” ingredients, we created a starter planting mix that focuses on nutrients first to help you get your “First Leaf.” Our starter blend consists of a healthy amount of our super fine, 100% Certified Organic Compost that is OMRI Listed and screened to a 1⁄4” average size, and is then blended with other sustainable ingredients such as 100% Certified Organic and OMRI Listed Peat Moss (for aeration, drainage, soil tilth), Rice Hulls (for aeration), and BioChar (aeration, water retention, home for microbes) to create an extremely high quality planting soil suitable for a wide range of plants. Our seed starting planting blend rivals (if not exceeds) the results of other well-known, and more expensive planting blends. Super fine in texture with a higher percentage of peat moss than our Deep Root™ Blend, it is ideal for seed starting or growers who prefer a slightly lighter weight planting soil blend.
